Thank you for visiting the Fiori del Campo Suri Alpaca website! My name is Pia Al-Ubaidi and I want to tell you a little about my unique Suri alpaca breeding company located in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The inspiration for my farm name comes from my Neapolitan Italian heritage. A descendant of a long lineage of farmers, horticulturists and beekeepers, my family has always been connected to the earth, water and sky. I wanted to bring in and stay connected to that energy in my business, so I decided to use my mother's maiden name, “Fiore”, which means “flower” (singular), hearkening back to my familial roots. My sister Kathy, who is our farm's director of fleece and fiber arts, suggest the name “Fiori del Campo”. “Fiori” means “flowers” (plural) and “del campo” means “of the field”. The name has a double meaning for me – my people were Fiores, who worked and loved the land and the flowers of the field as I do, and at the same time the name describes the beauty one beholds when the Suri are in the pasture, fleece shining like silk and rippling in the breeze. They are, indeed, the “flowers of the field” in this case.

Our Philosophy and Goals

Fiori del Campo is truly a one-of-a-kind alpaca farm, being the only fully wholistic, co-creative alpaca farm in the country. As a professional animal communicator and intuitive, it is my experience that all alpacas and animals in general are unique, sentient and complex beings with physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual needs. These all must be addressed in order for them to maintain balance, health and happiness. Alpacas are particularly spiritual, sensitive and powerful, and generate a tremendous amount of healing and psychic energy.

As a business, it is Fiori del Campo's goal to produce offspring of exceptional quality. I address all aspects of my alpacas’ well-being through a variety of wholistic techniques and modalities, in concert with traditional allopathic medicine. Each animal is treated and worked with as an individual being at all times. It is a fact that when all aspects of an alpaca's being are in balance, then the animal is empowered to produce the highest quality crias. Fiori del Campo is the originator of the “Co-Creative Breeding Process”, which is my enlightened approach to sound breeding choices. It is superior to the commonly used means for choosing herdsires and results in the highest good of all the alpacas and humans involved.
